Dramatic Irony in Romeo & Julliet

There are many examples of dramatic irony in William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. One of those is when the chorus tells the audience that Romeo and Juliet are going to die in the prologue. “with their death” this way William Shakespeare tells the audience that that will die through the chorus. It is dramatic irony because the audience are aware of what will happen while the characters are not.

Another example of dramatic irony is when Juliet does not know that Romeo is in her orchard while she talks to herself about him.  It is still dramatic irony even though Romeo knows where  he is. “shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?” This way Romeo show the audience that Juliet is not aware of him.
