Jem and scout learn in the finch household about what Atticus believes is right. For example they have a house helper culpurnia, she is black and at the time the united states were very racist and black people where treated bad. Instead of abusing her they treat her as an equal and are like family . Calpurnia is almost a mother figure to jem and scout, she taught them to read and takes care of them because their mother is dead. This says that Atticus teaches his children treat everyone equal even people of other skin colors. A proof to this is he let them go to the first purchase church (culpurnias church) with her. At the church they learn that the negros are friendly people just like Atticus told them. There are a few racist ones that don’t like white people but they are instantly put down by culpurnia and Jen and scout are welcomed warmly by the rest.

Jakub, I like that you have focused on how Calpurnia influences Jem and Scout’s lives. Could we go as far to say she is like a mother figure to them?
You say that Scout and Jem learn what Atticus believes to be “right” – What are these things? Also, what do the children learn when they are at First Purchase Church?
You could enhance your points with some quotations.

This is a brief and yet informative piece of writing giving information on the events and characters experiences. However, I feel like certain characters could have a more in detailed synopsis of the character e.g. calpurnia and what more she has show towards the children during their time together that we know of.
