Social class

The finches are middle class in society they are not poor nor rich however in comparison the Cunninghams are poor and they are rejected by the society. The finches do not get rejected by the people because they are not considered inferior to anyone. Atticus is educated and Jen and scout can eat till full and can afford some luxuries, the Cunningham can not.

After defending the negro in court the finches lost a lot of public status and certain communities like aunt Alexandra will not want to accept the finches.

Aunt Alexandra is an old fashioned person that believes in old ways and is against modernisation like woman rights and civil rirights of the Negros.

    Jakub you have describes here your interpretation of the Finch’s (capital F) class. However the question asked you to explain each charcter’s belief in social hierarchy. For example How does Aunt Alexandra’s beliefs about social class compare to Jem and Scout’s?

    2. Only refer to Tom Robinson as a “negro” if it is a direct quote from the text.
