Days of heaven is a story about a couple bill and abby that struggle to live in the unrated states of America telling everyone they are brother and sister. The movie starts of with a scene showing bill attacking his boss killing him. This means that he has to leave his job in a factory. He takes his girlfriend Abby and a girl Linda on a journey to texas where because of the harvest season there’s a chance to earn some money. As soon as they show up the owner of the wheat farm the couple went to work in shows interest in Abby. Soon later bill finds out that the owner is going to die in a year and they both decide that Abby should marry him for the money. When the year is gone and the farmer has not got any worse bill attempts to assassinate the farmer causing suspicion. Tention caused by insect swarms rises at the farm. The farmer rages and sets everything on fire. The next day the farmer decides to shoot bill but ends up being stabbed by him. This again was a reason to run away. But soon after the sheriff gets bill.

This is a good start – I’m pleased you’ve done some work on your reading project. Currently your entry is largely a plot summary. The next step with your journal entries is to make sure you make some references to the idea of the anti-hero.
To extend your thinking further – consider how the written style of the book, the setting and the tone also support the notion of an anti-hero genre. Are there any distinctive features that you want to pick up on that you may then be able to explore in relation to other texts?
